Angela Joe Oswalt

Ms. Angela Joe Oswalt, age 72, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2025.

Angela was born May 7, 1952, in Rome, Georgia, daughter of the late John Foster Oswalt and Ruth Caldwell Williams.

Angela spent the greater part of her life in Polk and Haralson County. She was of the Baptist faith. Angela found joy watching birds and especially loved cardinals. She loved to travel, and always enjoyed a good cup of coffee. She was a kind and free-spirited person who was a joy to be around. Above all, Angela loved her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were very special to her, and she cherished her time with them.

In addition to her parents, Angela is preceded in death by brothers, Benjamin Franklin Williams and Donald Oswalt.

Angela is survived by her children: Joshua Edmond Hayes, Sr. and his wife, Brandi, of Cedartown, Georgia, and Benjamin Stephen Hayes and his wife, Rachel, of Bremen, Georgia; seven dearly loved grandchildren: Montgomery Hayes, Kelsey Carroll and her husband, Ryan, Alannah Hayes, Kiley Hayes, Benjamin Hayes, Joshua Hayes, and Tilden Hayes; several great-grandchildren; brother, Gene Oswalt; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services to celebrate her life will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home, with Reverend Richard Brannon officiating.

Angela's family will receive friends, also on Wednesday at Smith & Miller Funeral Home, from 2:00 PM until the service hour.
