Ms. Barbara Martin, age 77, of Cedartown, Georgia passed away Monday, September 11, 2017.
She was born in Cedartown, Georgia on May 23, 1940, daughter of the late Joe Hopper and
Lucile Sutton Hopper. Ms. Martin lived most of her life in Cedartown where she was a member of First Baptist Church in Cedartown. She was a talented lady that enjoyed China painting, oil painting and sewing. Ms. Martin always had the love of helping others, so after raising her children, became a registered nurse. Her greatest pride was being known as “BABA” by her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ms. Martin is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Donna and Greg Thompson, Gwen and Tony Tuck, Angie and Joey Colquitt; grandchildren: Kathleen and Jim Alsup, Dylan Thompson, Rachel and Edward Graves, Amos and Sarah Tuck, Rebekah Tuck, Cassie and Clay Bennett, Joe and Hannah Colquitt; great grandchildren: Ethan, Harper, Ward, Georgia Anne, Atticus, Lexi and Harrison; sister: Jo Anne Starnes; and nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends Sunday, September 17, 2017, from 2 o’clock in the afternoon until the memorial service hour.
A memorial service for Ms. Martin will be held Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of the Smith & Miller Funeral Home with Dr. David Taylor officiating.
The family will be accepting flowers; however, you may make memorial contributions in Ms. Martin’s memory to a charity of your choice.
