Barbara Carroll Roberson

March 21, 1927 — May 24, 2024

Ms. Barbara Carroll Roberson, age 97, of Cedartown, passed away Friday, May 24, 2024. 

Ms. Roberson was born March 21, 1927, in Cedartown, Georgia, a daughter of the late Earnest Carroll, Sr. and Mary Ellen Carroll. 

Ms. Roberson was a lifelong member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church where she found great joy singing in the choir. She has been an avid Braves fan since they moved to Atlanta in 1966. She enjoyed playing card games with her friends and watching game shows. She dedicated her life to being a homemaker and caring for her family. Ms. Roberson loved her family and had a special place in her heart for her children, grandchildren,  and her "granddogs."

In addition to her parents, Ms. Roberson was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. William C. Roberson, Sr.; son, "Billy" Roberson, Jr.; sister, Betty Ann Greenway; and brother, Earnest "Billy" Carroll, Jr. 

She is survived by her son, Stewart Roberson and his wife, Shawna; two grandchildren, Matthew Roberson and Connor Roberson; and multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home, with Reverend Dr. Jimmy Bryant officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. 

Serving as pallbearers will be: James Roberson, David Nichols, Jarrod Thornton, Bob Willingham, Matthew Roberson, Connor Roberson, Terry Rutledge, and Johnny Crawford. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the staff of the Cedar Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. 

Her family will receive friends, also on Tuesday, from 12:00 PM until the service hour.   

Flowers are welcomed, however the family would prefer memorial contributions to Oak Grove Cemetery Fund, PO Box 108, Cedartown, Georgia 30125. 

Ms. Roberson's family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of the Cedar Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the attentive care she received.
