Mr. Christopher Mike "Big Put" Putnal, age 51, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2024.
Mike was born February 18, 1973, in Lakeland, Florida.
Mike was a graduate of Cedartown High School, class of 1992. From a young age, Mike was a hard-working individual. At fifteen years old he was already working at Taco Bell. He then went on to work for Lorrens Metal Products for several years, followed by an eighteen-year long career at GEO Specialty Chemicals. He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting and fishing any time he could. Mike adored his grandson, Jack, who lovingly called him "Big Poppy." Mike's children were his life, and he always beamed with pride when speaking of them.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Hannah Putnal (Will), Hunter Putnal (Cierra), and Jayda Putnal; “man’s best friend” Shogun; grandson, Jack Hunter Simpkins; the mother of his children, the former Michelle Parker; brother, David Putnal; niece, Sarah Putnal Pegg; great-nephew, JD Pegg; great-niece, Ava Pegg; and aunt and uncle Roy and Rosetta Land, of Talahassee, Florida.
Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home, with Reverend Garrett Rodgers officiating. Eulogies will be given by Hunter Putnal and Kevin Bullard. Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery.
Mike’s family will receive friends, also on Tuesday at the funeral home, from 1:00 PM until the service hour.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Jody Guice, Keith Owens, Mike Hooper, Kevin Bullard, Hunter Moats, Kyle Love, Phil Bedford, and Wade Robinson.
