Diane Elizabeth Lockridge

Ms. Diane Elizabeth Lockridge, age 78, of Cedartown, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2025.

Diane was born January 10, 1947, in Cedartown, Georgia, the daughter of the late Oscar Durham Lockridge and Louise Little Lockridge.

Diane graduated from Cedartown High School, Class of 1965, and later received her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from West Georgia College. She would then go on to continue her education at Jacksonville State University, graduating with a specialist degree in early childhood education in 1982. She was a proud member of The National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa. She retired from the Polk School District after thirty-one years of service. She was a devoted member of the Anna Kresge Methodist Church.

Diane loved all of the children she taught over the years. She loved to travel and read, but her favorite thing was taking care of her cats.

In addition to her parents, Diane is preceded in death by her sister, Jean Lockridge.

Diane is survived by many cousins.

Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held Friday, April 18, 2025, at 5:00 PM, in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home, with Reverend Anthony Osborn officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends, also on Friday at the funeral home, from 4:00 PM until the service hour.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Leland Ledford, Taylor Ledford, Carson Ledford, Daniel Ledford, and Kenneth Waits.
