Dr. Charles Earland Anderson, a highly-respected Medical Doctor, who dedicated his life to serving others, passed away at the age 81, on February 4, 2024. Born on February 10, 1942, in, Vulcan, Alberta, Canada, he was the son of Earland A Anderson and Mabel Louise Anderson.
Dr. Anderson pursued his education at University of Alberta in Canada. He later began his medical career, specializing in the field of Emergency Medicine and General Practice. For an impressive 35 years, from 1971 until his retirement in 2006, he tirelessly provided medical care to countless patients with compassion and expertise.
Beyond his medical practice, Dr. Anderson also made significant contributions to society as a public servant. He served one term in the Legislative Assembly for the Providence of Alberta, Canada, where he advocated for improved healthcare services accessible to all Canadians. His special interest in healthcare was unwavering throughout his life.
Throughout his personal life, Dr. Anderson enjoyed many hobbies including flying his own plane, dabbling in construction, gardening with his wife, and helping friends and family with their various projects. Music was also very dear to him; he played the saxophone and loved to dance, especially the polka.
Dr. Charles Earland Anderson's warm heart and caring nature extended beyond professional and personal endeavors as he touched the lives of many through both laughter and love. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Above all, Dr. Anderson loved his family deeply and brought them great joy.
He is survived by Ruth Marshall Anderson, his devoted wife of over 61 years, who stood steadfastly by his side throughout their journey together. He is also survived by their children: Chris Anderson and wife Delain; Terry Dexter and husband Neal; Troy Anderson and wife Janet; Laurie Urquhart and husband Jonathan; and Tammy Cox and husband Scott. Dr. Anderson's legacy continues through his 28 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish the memories they shared with their beloved grandfather.
In addition to his immediate family, Dr. Anderson is survived by his sister Earlene Lindsted, several nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as a wide circle of friends who have been profoundly impacted by his presence in their lives.
In addition to his parents, Dr. Anderson was preceded in death by siblings, Marion Bissell, Marge Marks, Gladys Anderson, and Wallace Anderson.
A Funeral Service to honor and celebrate the life of Dr. Charles Earland Anderson will be held on February 10, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 1005 North Main Street, Cedartown, GA 30125, United States. The service will begin at noon. Interment will follow in Summitville Cemetery, located at 462 Summitville Road, Manchester, TN 37355.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Brandon Anderson, Jameson Carter, Nathan Losee, Harlen Hobbs, Quinn Hemmert, Jacob Anderson, Jackson Urquhart, and Grant Cox.
Dr. Anderson's family will receive friends, also on Saturday, from 10:00 Am until 11:30 AM, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that you please plant a tree in his memory.
While we mourn the loss of this remarkable individual, let us also find solace in knowing that his compassion and dedication have left an indelible mark on the medical profession and the many lives he touched.
