Mr. Donald Cary “Don” Robinson, age 67, of Cedartown, passed away Friday, December 22, 2023.
Mr. Robinson was born, March 27, 1956, in Rome, Georgia, son of the late William Bedford Robinson and Mary Lois Westfield Robinson.
Mr. Robinson had a great passion for education, having been an Alumni of Jacksonville State University and the University of West Georgia. Mr. Robinson had a long career with the Polk School District, beginning in 1982. He retired from Polk School District as the Director of Technology in 2019. Mr. Robinson also had a great love for music. Beginning in 2008, Mr. Robinson began serving as the Minister of Music at the Cedartown First Methodist Church. He was the Artistic Director for the Roman Festival Brass and a Charter Member of Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corp. Mr. Robinson participated with numerous local music ensembles. Upon retirement, Mr. Robinson became an avid golfer. Above all, he loved his family and devoted his life to them. Mr. Robinson used his many gifts as a way to enrich the lives of others through music and education, quietly blessing his community and the people he loved. His friendship and love were a blessing to all who knew him. He leaves a legacy of humility, patience, sacrificial love, and service.
Mr. Robinson is survived by his wife, Mrs. Julia Robinson; two daughters, Allison Michelle Robinson, and Holly Anne Robinson; and brother, Bill Robinson and his wife, Molly Ahearn. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial services to celebrate his life will be held, Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 3:00 PM, at the Cedartown First Methodist Church, with Reverend Britt Madden, Jr. officiating. His family will receive friends, also on Saturday, at Cedartown First Methodist Church, from 1:00 PM until the service hour.
