Dorothy "Dot" Juanita Ray

Ms. Dorothy “Dot” Juanita Ray, age 72, passed away, Wednesday, September 27, 2023.

She was born September 8, 1951, in Moultrie, Georgia, to her late parents, Roy Self and Margie Hight Self.

Ms. Dorothy was lovingly referred to as “Dot” by all who knew her. She enjoyed the simple things like feeding the birds and painting. She was always up for watching Alabama football. Above all, she loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by nieces: Misty Stephens, Haley Stephens, and Lacey Self; and great niece, Nevaeh Stephens.

“Dot” is survived by her children: Lamar McFry and Glenn McFry; grandchildren: Destiny McFry, Hunter McFry, Mikey McFry, Devan Davis, Tommy Lites, Gavin Lites, Jessica Smith, and Lindsay Brackob; and several great-grandchildren. Additionally, she is survived by siblings: Leona Bowles and her partner, Charles Blalock, Jesse Self and his wife, Debra, Tina Jackson and her husband, Jesse, Faye Wooten, Theresa Ray, Wanda Klein, and Joyce Self.

A service to celebrate her life will be held, Sunday, October 1, 2023, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home, with Reverend Justin Carter officiating.

Her family will receive friends, Sunday, October 1, 2023, from 1:00 PM until the service hour, at 

Smith & Miller Funeral Home.
