Dr. Clyde Randall "Randy" Edwards

Dr. Clyde Randall "Randy" Edwards, age 71, passed away Friday, February 7, 2025. 

Dr. Edwards was born March 13, 1953, in Rome, Georgia, son of the late Clyde Marcus "Buddy" Edwards and Frances Edwards. 

Dr. Edwards always had a passion for helping others which led him into the medical field. He began his career as a Physician's Assistant before going back to Medical School to become a doctor. He was a member of the first class of graduating doctors at Mercer University School of Medicine. He was a skilled physician who worked in several Emergency Room Departments. Dr. Edwards moved to Cedartown in 1996, and after many years of serving his community in the medical field, he retired from the Emergency Room Department at Polk Medical Center. After retirement, Dr. Edwards found much joy in spending his days on the farm. Dr. Edwards was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He leaves a legacy of compassion, steadfast determination, and love. 

In addition to his parents, Dr. Edwards is preceded in death by a beloved son, Chad Edwards; and siblings: Cathy Edwards and Linda Jackson, 

Dr. Edwards is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Jann McClendon Edwards; son: Mark Edwards and his wife, Whitney; and grandchildren: Will Edwards, Jillian Edwards, Katelyn Edwards, Madison Edwards, Mackenzie Edwards, Emma Edwards, and Ian Edwards; siblings, Mary Furnace, and Gary Edwards. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
