Ms. Edith Myers Highfield, of Cedartown, age 70, passed away, Monday, February 19, 2024.

Ms. Highfield was born April 21, 1953, in Rome, Georgia, daughter of the late William Harvey Myers and Willie Mae Gilham Myers. 

Ms. Highfield was a kind individual who really enjoyed a simple life. She had many hobbies like painting, drawing, and putting puzzles together. She was a talented artist and enjoyed gifting her work to others. She was known for her fun loving nature; always up for a girl's trip and dressing up for Halloween. Ms. Highfield found the most joy in spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Ms. Highfield was a pleasure to be around, always enriching the lives of others. 

In addition to her parents, Ms. Highfield was preceded in death by siblings: Deanie Bolinger, Carey Myers, Bobby Myers, Betty Myers, Buddy Myers, Billy Myers, and Howard Myers. 

Ms. Myers is survived by her daughter, Michelle Shelton and her husband, David; grandchildren: Kaylyn Clark and her husband, Justin, and Carson Shelton and his fiance', Whitney Frazier; and great-granddaughter, Emmie Caroline Clark. Additionally, she is survived by two sisters, Sudie Burt and Bernice Allen, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Ms. Edith Myers Highfield will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 2:00 in the afternoon at Smith & Miller Funeral Home, with Reverend Danny Tucker officiating and her daughter, Michelle Shelton delivering an eulogy. Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery. 

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Carson Shelton, Justin Clark, Chaz Shelton, Braden Shelton, Brad Shelton, Jimmy Carter, and Todd Pledger. 

Ms. Highfield's family will receive friends, also on Saturday at Smith & Miller Funeral Home, beginning at 12:00 in the afternoon until the service hour.
