Elizabeth McCombs

Mrs. Elizabeth McCombs, age 97, of Cedartown Ga, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024.

 She was born on April 15, 1927 in Cedartown to the late Robert Lee Pyles and Winnie Baldwin Pyles. 

In addition to her parents, Elizabeth is also preceded in death by her late husband of 62 years, James R. McCombs; her beloved son-in-law, Larry D Welchel; brothers, Reverend Robert Pyles, Posey Pyles, Seals Allen Pyles, John C Pyles; sisters, Sara Norwood & Agnes Martin. 

She is survived by her daughters: Barbara Welchel, Patricia Turoso, Sandra Ballard (Doug), and Denise McCombs; brother, Jimmy Pyles; brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Herbert & Elizabeth Johnson; grandchildren: Stacy Kennedy (Jack), Chelsea Hughes (Ryan), Felicia Guffey, Jason Welchel, Tony Turoso (Kara), Douglas Ballard, Brian Ballard (Lauren); 11 great-grandchildren & 1 great- great-grandson. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Funeral services to honor her life will be held Thursday, November 7, 2024 at 12:00 PM in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home with Reverend Billy Swift officiating. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Thursday at Smith & Miller Funeral Home from 11:00 AM until the service hour. 

The family of Mrs. McCombs would like to give special thanks to all who cared for and loved her at Cameron Hall of Canton, Georgia.
