Miss Ethel O. Carter, age 86, of Cedartown, GA passed away Sunday, December 1, 2019.
She was born in Cedartown, GA on May 13, 1933 a daughter of the late Wylie Carter and the late Ethel Brown Carter. Miss Carter had lived all of her life in Cedartown and graduated from Cedartown High School. She worked for many years at Allen’s 5 & 10, followed by employment with Fred’s and retired from Walmart. She was of the Methodist faith.
In addition to her parents she was preceded by three brothers: James, Billy and Ray Carter.
Survivors include nieces and nephews: Chris Coile and friend Scott Williams, Dan and Beth Carter and Ray “Slugger” and Nina Carter, Don Carter and wife Melinda, Carol Carter McNair and husband John, Steve Carter and wife Jan Stephens Carter and Mike Carter; great nieces and nephews: Joseph Carter, Betsy Carter, Lori and Courtney Burdette, Meagan and Nicholas Carter and Becky and J.D. Brewer.
Graveside funeral and interment services will be held Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at 4:00 pm in the Greenwood Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Phil Bray officiating.
Pallbearers will include the following gentlemen: Marshall Ballew, Stanley Hopkins, Todd Tillery, Nick Carter, Willie Cromer and Scotty Tillery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 2:00 pm until 3:45 pm at the Smith & Miller Funeral Home of Cedartown.
