Mrs. Gayle Carter, age 63, of Cedartown, GA passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at her residence following several months of illness.
She was born in Atlanta, GA on June 10, 1953 a daughter of the late Howard Whitehill and Nellie Ruth Britt Whitehill. She had lived the greater part of her life in Polk County where she was a member of the Faith Missionary Baptist Church. Gayle enjoyed spending time with her family , shopping and traveling to the beach and taking trips to the mountains. She also loved her two dogs, Millie and Lala.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters: Norma Jean Crew and Eleanor Morgan and a brother, Bud Whitehill.
Survivors include her husband, Randall Carter to whom she was married in July of 1992; three children: Stephen Purser, Jeremiah Purser and Jennifer (Anthony) Jester; two step sons: Jonathan Carter and Matthew Carter; four grandchildren: Anthony and Isiah Jester and Colton and Liam Purser all of Cedartown.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 9, 2017 at 4:00 pm in the chapel of the Smith & Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in the Northview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include: Andrew Morgan, Greg Carter, Ricky Mathis, Mark Purser, Joel Clower and Barry Clower.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 9 pm at the Smith & Miller Funeral Home.
