Mr. Jack Milton Montfort, Sr., age 55, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2025.
Jack was born February 26, 1969, in Cuthbert, Georgia, son of Ruby Frances Byrd Montfort and the late Walter Marvin Montfort.
Jack was the co-owner of Huddle House in Rome, Georgia and Cedartown, Georgia, where he has been a friend to many over the years. He had multiple master’s degrees and had a lengthy career as the head of network support for thirty years with Hewlett-Packard. He was currently working at Georgia Highlands College, untilizing his years of experience assiting in the I.T. Department. Jack was driven by his faith in God and was a dedicated member of Grace Place Church in Cedartown. He was an avid coin collector and passed this hobby down to his son, Jack, Jr. He found much joy in spending time outdoors fishing, gardening, and observing nature. He loved watching sports games, especially the Atlanta Braves and The UGA Bulldogs. He had a special love for the Cedartown High School marching band and showed his support for them in many tangible ways. His temperament was often described as “jolly”, and he was known for his goodness and kindness to others. Jack was a family man. He was sure to show his love and admiration to his family as often as he could. He was a doting husband, loving and supportive father, and proud grandfather. His impact on their lives is immeasurable and he will be greatly missed.
In addition to his father, Jack is preceded in death by his brother-in-law William Rogers, and father-in-law, Ronnie Eugene Smith.
Jack is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Connie Montfort; children: Josh Smith and his wife, Samantha, Jeannie Golden and her husband, Tyler, and Jack Montfort, Jr.; and dearly loved grandchildren: Autumn Smith, Kyleigh Smith, Leighla Smith, Waylon Golden, Jaxon Eason, Ella-Jo Eason, and Harper Eason. Additionally, he is survived by his siblings: Lenita Rogers, Walter Montfort, David Montfort and his wife, Rhetta, and Katherine Bennett and her husband, Ronald; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services to celebrate Jack’s life will be held Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Grace Place Church, 448 West Avenue, Cedartown, Georgia with Pastor Justin Grant officiating.
Jack’s family will receive friends on Saturday at the church from 12:00 PM until the service hour.
