Jerry Wisener

August 29, 1937 — September 4, 2024

Mr. Jerry Hugh Wisener, age 87, of Cedartown passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2024.

Mr. Wisener was born August 29, 1937, son of the late Hugh Lloyd Wisener and Grace Elrod Garner.

Mr. Wisener was a man of integrity with a strong work ethic. He displayed this from a very young age as he delivered newspapers on his bicycle. He was instrumental in briging the fuel cell division to what is now known as Parker-Meggitt in Rockmart. Mr. Wisener was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of fifty nine years, Leva Wisener. He was very attentive and took great pride in being her caregiver. He had a servant's heart and always put the needs of others above his own. He was a family man and was very proud of his children and grandchildren. Mr. Wisener embodied what it meant to be a Christian and truly had a servant's heart. He was a longtime member of Second Baptist Church of Cedartown and often shared fond memories of his years there. He leaves a legacy of selflessness, hard work, devotion to others and to God, and humility. His presence will be missed by all he knew and loved.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Wisener was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Leva Wisener, whom he married on May 29, 1960; daughter, Jacqualine Danette Wisener; son, Stacy Wisener; and brothers, Roscoe Wisener, and Frank Wisener.

Mr. Wisener is survived by his son, Chris Wisener and his wife, Terry; daughter, Kitty Longshore and her husband, Michael; grandchildren: Hailey Wisener, Avery Wisener, Christopher Wisener, Chase Wisener, Jamison Wisener, Morgan Satterfield, Mariah Carnazza, Mikayla Longshore, Ashley Ozment, and Amelia Hensley; and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held, Saturday, September 7, 2024, in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home, at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Justin Carter officiating. Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery with Reverend Bill Heaton officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher Wisener, Chase Wisener, Avery Wisener, Weston Hunter, Nick Carnazza, and Joseph Hennon. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Mason Satterfield.

Mr. Wisener's family will receive friends, also on Saturday at Smith & Miller Funeral Home, from 10:00 AM until the service hour.

Smith & Miller Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Jerry Hugh Wisener.
