Mrs. Jo Ann Sargent, age 86, of Cedartown, passed away, Sunday, April 6, 2025.

Mrs. Sargent was born March 23, 1939, daughter of the late John VanNus and Isabel Zimmerer VanNus.

She not only poured her life into her family but into others throughout her working career as a Registered Nurse. She was devoted and caring to her children and grandchildren. She loved to shop and spend time with her Live Oak Baptist Church family.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sargent is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Sargent; grandchildren, Andrew Martin and Tyler Smith, along with several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her children, Kenneth Sargent and his wife, Joan, Carolaine Duncan, Vanessa Sargent, Janice Smith and her husband, Joshua, and Cory Sargent; 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, and numerous additional family members and friends also survive.

Funeral services to honor Mrs. Sargent’s life will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 2:00 PM, in the sanctuary of Live Oak Baptist Church, (150 Live Oak Road, Aragon, Georgia 30104) with Reverend Anthony Osborne officiating. Interment will follow in her family lot at Mount Nebo United Methodist Church Cemetery 3685 Nebo Rd, 30157 Dallas, Georgia.

Mrs. Sargent’s family will receive friends Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from 1:00 PM until the service hour.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Kenny Sargent, Ken Sargent, Cory Sargent, Kyle Sargent, Josh Smith, and Robbie Huff.
