Deputy Chief Jonathan Fuller

August 14, 1972 — November 26, 2024

Deputy Chief David Jonathan Fuller, age 52, Tuesday, November 26, 2024.

Jonathan was born August 14, 1972, in Rome, Georgia, son of the late David Fuller and Patricia Harrison Fuller.

Jonathan spent the greater part of his life living in Cedartown, Georgia, excluding the time he spent serving in the US Navy as a corpsman.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by many special friends, and brothers and sisters in blue.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ashley; his children: Michael, McKenzie, and Andrew; dearly loved grandson, Walker; siblings, Mike, and Angie; brother-in-law, Robert; and several nieces and nephews.

He was survived by a beloved sister, Pam, who passed away a short time after him.

He also leaves behind a chosen family- brothers and sisters in blue, and friends that have been there for a lifetime.

His accomplishments are vast and many. However, his life and the memories that each of us carry with us of our time with him speak louder than any piece of paper hanging in a frame. His life, his knowledge that he passed along, the stories that we will tell for years to come are the true accomplishments in his life. His testimony is a life full of love and friendship. He guided us all with a big heart, and taught us life lessons using a glare, a swift kick, and a hug around the neck.

As stated by his colleagues, though Jonathan’s professional accomplishments are many, they are greatly outweighed by his love for his family and the kind and generous person that he was. He always made time for younger officers who looked to him for wisdom and guidance. He embodied the call of a public servant in every endeavor, both professionally and personally. His love for his family was at the center of his life. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His impact on their lives is immeasurable.

These are the things that should be remembered. Let his “Fullerisms” guide us and remind us of the person he wanted each of us to be. He wanted everyone to know that “It is ok to not be ok” and to always seek help when you need it. In this time and in the days to come he would want us to take care of one another, check in on one another, and watch each other’s six.

A celebration of Life will be held Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 3:00 PM, at The City of Rockmart Gymnasium, 813 College Street, Rockmart, Georgia.

His family would like for his celebration of life to be filled with memories from family and friends. If you have a happy, funny, or “that’s such a Jonathan moment” story you would like to share, please do so at the celebration service. He would want us to be smiling.

His family kindly requests that flowers be omitted. It is their desire that donations would be made in his honor to something that was dear to Jonathan’s heart. https://www.mightyoaksprograms.org/donate/ or https://mission22.com/
