Judy Longino Long of Cedartown, GA passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. She was 76 years old and born at Floyd Hospital on December 9, 1947.

She is predeceased by her parents: Herman and Eula Longino; her brother Jerry “Juby” Longino; and her husband, Ronnie Long.
Judy was renowned for custom sewing, having handmade dresses and outfits for her three daughters’ and their friends’ cheerleading teams, clogging events, proms and other special occasions. She proclaimed that “If I want something done right, I’ll just do it myself.”
Judy grew up in Cedartown, GA and graduated from Cedartown High School in 1965, where her daughters also graduated. She was well known for her devoted support to her daughters’ endeavors both in the classroom and out. Her oldest daughter received a Masters degree from the University of Colorado after graduating from the University of Georgia, her middle daughter received an undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado, and her youngest daughter received her Medical degree from the Mercer School of Medicine after graduating from Kennesaw State University.
She was known for many of her special meals and was not shy about using her culinary talents for advantage. She reined in her future sons in law with the promise of a lifetime supply of her famous turkey and dressing, beer battered onion rings and chocolate pies. Her dinners were well attended by her family. For many years, everyone believed she was sponsored by Dr. Pepper as she was never without a 20 oz. bottle of the soda in her purse. She even brought her own when dining out!
Judy accomplished the best of being a mother, an advocate for her daughters, and a teacher of practical wisdom. Throughout her life, she balanced her career as a hairdresser with being a full-time mother who imparted common sense wisdom with a no-nonsense outlook. In addition to her excellent cooking, she cultivated multiple creative hobbies all while making it look easy.
She was never one to have a moments rest, always seeking to accomplish something for her family or in the pursuit of creative endeavors. She will be missed by all for the joy and wisdom she brought to her family.
Her family will have a gathering of friends Friday, August 9, 2024, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Smith & Miller Funeral Home.
