Kent Angel

Mr. Kent Angel, age 87, of Rockmart and formerly of Cedartown passed away Monday, July 22, 2019 at his residence.

He was born in Nashville, TN on November 25, 1931, a son of the late Winston Angel and the late Kathleen Stone Angel. Mr. Angel was raised in Madisonville, Kentucky and was a graduate of Kemper Military Academy and the University of Kentucky. Kent moved to Cedartown in the early 1960’s to work for Rome Plow. He loved to travel, and while working with Rome Plow he traveled throughout the world. Mr. Angel was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of the Victory Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Iris Wyley Angel, Rockmart; daughter, Cynthia (Mike) Hoggard, Cedartown; step-son, Bob (Adrienne) Wiggins, Fort Mill, SC; step-daughter, Suzanne Buck (Bill Higgs), Atlanta; two grandchildren: Amanda Burnett, Woodstock and Jacob Burnett, Chattanooga, TN; four step-grandchildren: Meg Wiggins, Knoxville, TN, Molly Wiggins, Clemson, SC, Cooper Buck, Atlanta and Della Buck, Atlanta.

Memorial services to celebrate the life of Mr. Kent Angel will be held Sunday, July 28, 2019 at 4:00 pm in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Snapp officiating.

The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00 pm until the memorial hour at the funeral home.

The family has respectfully requested that flowers please be omitted, and memorial donations be made to the church or charity of your choice in memory of Mr. Angel.
