Leonard Miller

Mr. Leonard Earl Miller, age 75, of Cedartown passed away Friday, May 20, 2022.

Mr. Miller was born April 18, 1947, in Rome, Georgia to his late parents, Seals T. Miller and Cathine Duggar Miller. Leonard was a kind, humble man that loved to tell stories and play jokes. He was a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church and was proud to be a past deacon of Benedict Baptist Church. He proudly served in the Georgia National Guard for many years and was a 20-year retiree from Floyd County as a Correctional Officer. He was always willing to help anyone in need and share his love for the Lord. He enjoyed taking care of the family farm. His greatest joys were spending time with his wife Patty, his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Linda Vinson Miller and his daughter, Gina Self.

Survivors include his loving, supportive, and caregiving wife, Patty Miller to whom he married April 8, 2019; son, Randy Miller; grandchildren, Levi Self and his wife, Ashleigh, Sidney Self, Nekoda Self and his wife, Rachael, Dominique Devine and her husband, Tim, Pam Linard and her husband, Michael, and Kevin Scanlan and his wife, Amanda; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Seals “Sonny” Miller, Jr.; sisters, Martha Chambers and Elaine Vess. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at 2:00 PM in the sanctuary of Faith Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Sims, Rev. Jim Tucker, and Rev. Danny Tucker officiating. Interment will follow at Lee’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors provided by the Rockmart American Legion Brown-Wright Post 12.

The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers: Randy Miller, Levi Self, Sidney Self, Nekoda Self, Tim Devine, and Noel Smith, Sr.

The Family will receive friends Tuesday, May 24, 2022, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Smith & Miller Funeral Home.
