Lynne Brock Mangum

November 28, 1949 — March 17, 2025

On behalf of the family, Smith & Miller Funeral Home announces the passing of Ms. Lynne Brock Mangum.

A graveside service to celebrate the life of Ms. Lynne Brock Mangum, 75, of Wellington, will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Wellington First Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Tommy Miller officiating. The family will receive friends at the church at 11 am; one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Lynne passed away at home on Monday, March 17, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harris Rayford Brock and Evelyn Waites Brock.

Those left to cherish the memory of Lynne include her son, Cody Mangum, his wife Allison, and her grandchildren McKenna and Conor Mangum; her partner of 10 years, Charles “Chuck” Chatham; her brother, Michael “Mike” Brock; and her nephew, Alan Brock.

Lynne was Baptist by faith and was a beautiful woman inside and out. She was full of compassion and had the most tender of hearts. Lynne was very talented in many areas and had many interests. Some of her favorites included painting, crafting, and creating floral arrangements. Using these skills, she would create many masterpieces and share them at craft shows and with family and friends.

Lynne was best known for her floral shop, Petals and Paint in Etowah County, where she created beautiful and ornate floral arrangements.

Lynne enjoyed spending time with her family every chance she had. She often took trips to Woodstock to see her son, daughter-in-law, and her most prized possessions; her beloved grandchildren. Lynne loved nothing more than caring for them and spoiling them in every way possible.

To Cody, she was his rock and pillar, providing for him and never failing to be the best mother she could be. To her grandchildren, she was the best “Granny” they could ask for, and they knew she was wrapped around their fingers. As a partner to Chuck, Lynne was a companion to him that forever changed his life, and they shared many wonderful moments together.

Lynne will be forever loved and remembered by those who knew her. In her memory, take the time to be creative and design a floral piece or painting as she would have loved to do.

The Smith & Miller Funeral Home is honored to make this local announcement for the family of Mrs. Lynne Brock Mangum.
