Macklyn Vernon Sartin

Mr. Macklyn Vernon Sartin, age 75, passed away, Tuesday, June 13, 2023.

Mr. Sartin was born August 26, 1947, in Cedartown, Georgia, son of the late George Macklin Sartin, Jr. and Margaret McLendon Sartin.

Mr. Sartin attended Auburn University where he played golf. He would later go on to travel the world playing golf. In his spare time, Mr. Sartin always enjoyed an afternoon spent fishing. He had a special love for his golden doodles, Birdie and Bogey.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Sartin was preceded in death by a daughter, Deena Lynn Sartin.

Mr. Sartin is survived by a son, Alan Macklin Sartin and his wife, Lisa; granddaughter, Ava Sartin; and sister, Holly Lemelin and her husband, Kenny. Additionally, he is survived by a niece, Michelle Deems Saunders and her husband, Van; great niece, Devyn Saunders; and great nephew, Donovan Saunders.

Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held Monday, June 19, 2023, at 3:00 PM, in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery with Pastor Jason Stockton officiating.

The family will receive friends Monday, June 19, 2023, from 2:00 PM until the funeral hour at Smith & Miller Funeral Home.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Alan Sartin, Kenny Lemelin, Van Saunders, Donovan Saunders, Bucky Ayers, and Joe Edge.
