Margie "Ann" Bentley

Mrs. Margie “Ann” Pierce Bentley, age 78, of Cedartown, passed away Friday, February 21, 2025.

Mrs. Bentley was born June 18, 1946, daughter of the late Ventis Pierce and Lucy Mae Hudson Pierce. 

Mrs. Bentley was a resident of Cedartown for the entirety of her life, having been a graduate of Cedartown High School, Class of 1964. Mrs. Bentley dedicated her life to family, community, and service. She retired after 30 years with the Department of Social Security, and also worked for Bentley Tractor and the Georgia Department of Labor. 

She was an avid sports fan, a lover of music, books, and movies, and enjoyed working in her yard. She was a longtime member of Southside Baptist Church, where she was an active participant in the Lassie Hudson Circle, a women's group named after her grandmother. Mrs. Bentley was an ever-present source of strength, compassion, and support for her family. 

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bentley is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. Michael Bentley, and nephew, Tim Sanders. 

Mrs. Bentley is survived by her children, Mike Bentley and his wife, Shelly, and Jennifer Davis and her husband, Jack; grandchildren: Savannah Bentley, Jacob, Davis, Lucy Davis, and Sadie Bentley; sister, Sue Sanders; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held Monday, February 24, 2025, at 1:00 PM, at Southside Baptist Church, with Reverend Joel A. Smith and Reverend Jeff Pilgrim officiating. Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery, with Aubrey Pierce and Gene Pierce officiating. 

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Jeff Sanders, Greg Locklear, Wayne Tillman, Joey Lee, Keith Davis, and Ben Bentley. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Aubrey Pierce and Gene Pierce. 

Mrs. Bentley’s family will receive friends, also on Monday at Southside Baptist Church, from 11:00 AM until the service hour.
