Mary Janis Beck

Mrs. Mary Janis Beck, age 73, of Cedartown passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Floyd Medical Center in Rome, Georgia.

She was born in Cedartown, GA on September 22, 1944, a daughter of the late Richard East and Fannie Miller East. Mrs. Beck was born and raised in Cedartown where she was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. She had a great love for her family and her grandchildren and always enjoyed spending time with them and all of her friends. Mrs. Beck also loved spending time in the kitchen cooking. She spent her working career at Arrow Shirt Company where she retired after 31 years of service.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five siblings.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Fred Beck, to whom she was married on November 30, 1962; son, Greg Beck and his wife, Dorothy; two grandchildren: Tabitha Beck and Zachary Beck; brother, Curtis East; and a number of cousins and nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends Friday afternoon from 12 noon until the funeral hour at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 22, 2017 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home with Dr. DeWayne New officiating. Interment will follow at Polk Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will include: Brandon East, Clint East and Trenton East.
