Mrs. Mary Jane Mullinax, age 80, of Cedartown, GA, passed away on Sunday, the 6th of April 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born to the late Hugh Dobbs and Jane Mabry Dobbs. She is preceded in death by her only brother, Butch Dobbs. Mary Jane shared 41 beautiful years with her husband, George W. Mullinax.
Mary Jane has one son, Chris Mullinax (Shonda); 3 much loved biological grandchildren, Jannah Crenshaw (Rye), Tyler Mullinax (Samantha), and Rylan Mullinax (Kaylee).
Mary Jane’s heart has been blessed with four biological great-grandchildren whose hugs she treasured, Russell, Kaiden, Wylder, and Abram brought much happiness into her life. There is one great-great-grandchild that she hasn’t gotten to meet yet but loves just as much. She has acquired many bonus grandchildren and great-grandchildren that have brought her much joy.
Mary Jane is survived by a spiritual daughter with whom she patiently helped to learn about Jehovah, Heavalan Mullinax Moody (David), and many-many spiritual brothers and sisters.
Mary Jane loves to tell stories of the travels she shared with her family. She often spoke of the trips out west, Cades Cove, and weeks at the beach with those she loved. Mary Jane owned a beauty shop named The Villagers, with her best friend, Catherine Stringer. Then after retirement, some of Mary Jane’s fondest memories are swinging her babies on the back porch swing, reading them books like “The Mitten” and “The Pokey Little Puppy” and singing them songs such as "Red River Valley". Today, with heaviest of hearts, it is their turn to bid her "Adieu".
Mary Jane, known as “Molly” to all of the children in her life, held a special place in her heart for Maderia Beach, FL. A place where she and her husband, G.W., enjoyed weeks every summer with their grandchildren. It is there, this summer, that her grandchildren will privately scatter her ashes, leaving her final resting place where so many wonderful memories were made.
In accordance with her wishes, a memorial service for her will be held on Sunday, April 27 at 4:30 PM in the Cedartown Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness.
The Smith & Miller Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Mary Jane Mullinax.
