Mrs. Mildred Harne, age 93, of Cedartown, GA, passed away Wednesday evening, August 3, 2022, in a Rome hospital.
Sis. Harne was born in Atlanta, GA, on July 23, 1929, a daughter of the late W.H. Gann and Fannie Coulon Gann. She was attending Lee College when she met and fell in love with her husband, Rev. Delton Harne. She was a housewife and homemaker who taught piano lessons and loved to cook. Sis. Harne spent over 72 years in ministry with her husband and loved to sing in church. If she ever saw a need anywhere, she was the first to try to fulfill it.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Harne was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jarrell and a bother Gilbert Gann.
Sis. Harne is survived by her husband of almost 74 years, Rev. Delton Harne; two daughters, Cheryl Gilbert and her husband Ron, and Donna Rogers and her husband Michael; grandchildren, Kris (Karen) Gilbert, Ryan (Mollie) Gilbert, Rachel Arrowood, Andrea (Chase) Ramsey, Dwayne Rogers, and Karen Rogers; great-grandchildren, Ellie Gilbert, Rayah Gilbert, Bailey Gilbert, Gwyn Gilbert, Owen Ramsey, Charlotte Arrowood, and Zachary Young. A brother, Charles (Ruth) Gann; her Bahamian family, Jay (Euphemia) Simms, Jennifer Simms, Jessica Simms, and Tiffany Simms. Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services for Sis. Harne will be Saturday, August 6, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Cedartown Church of God with Pastor Justin Grant and Dr. W. Jay Simms officiating. A eulogy will be given by Mrs. Harne's granddaughter, Karen Rogers. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Rockmart, GA. Sis. Harne will lie in-state at the church on Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m.
Sis. Harne’s family will receive friends at Cedartown Church of God Friday evening, August 5, 2022, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will include Kris Gilbert, Dwayne Rogers, Dale Mullinax, Jeff Parish, Chris Guttery, and Junior Thomason.
