Nancy Linda Woods

 Mrs. Nancy Woods, age 70, of Cedartown, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2024.

Nancy was born October 4, 1954 in Macon, Georgia, daughter to the late William “Buddy” Crocker and Dorothy Daniel Crocker. 

Nancy was a proud graduate of Cedartown High School, class of 1972. She furthered her education at the University of Georgia, where she earned her undergraduate degree, later obtaining a master’s degree from the University of West Georgia.

Nancy had a vibrant personality; she loved to sing and had a unique ability to connect with everyone she met, never considering anyone a stranger, and always finding joy in her interactions with others. She had a deep appreciation for singing and theatre. She enjoyed her many years of singing in the choir of Cedartown First Methodist Church. 

Family was at the center of Nancy's life, and her favorite role was being a “Yaya”. 

Mrs. Woods is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 47 years, William Woods; children: Melinda Folsom and her husband, Bryan, Courtney Jones and her husband, Zach; grandchildren: Emily Folsom, Sarah Folsom, Aubrey Jones, and Tripp Jones; sisters: Jean Rutherford (Barry), Jane Rhodes (David), Lucille (Kay) Beasley, Roenelle Daniel, and Carlene White. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services to honor Nancy’s life will be held Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at 1:00 PM in the sanctuary of Cedartown First Methodist Church with Pastor Britt Madden officiating. Private inurnment will follow later in the memorial garden of Cedartown First Methodist Church. 

Her family will receive friends, Wednesday, December 4, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Cedartown First Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in her memory to either Cedartown First Methodist Church Choir, 201 Wissahickon Ave, Cedartown, Georgia 30125 or The Gideons International, www.gideons.org.
