Mrs. Pearlie Haney Phillips, age 74, of Rockmart, Georgia passed away at her home on Saturday, September 23, 2017.
She was born in Trion, GA on February 24, 1943 a daughter of the late Charlie Haney and Savilla Chapman Haney. Mrs. Phillips spent the early years of her life in Felton before moving to Polk County in 1984. She was a retired respiratory therapist having worked for Polk General Hospital for twenty five years and later retired from Shell Medical. She loved to work in her flower garden, play cards with her friends and spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Phillips was a member of the Bellview Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, five brothers and a step daughter Sharon Briones.
Survivors include her husband, Franklin A. Phillips of Rockmart to whom she was married on July 27, 1996; two daughters: Cheryl Gateley, Lindale and Teresa Smith and her husband Bobby, Cedartown; step daughter, Patricia Hammond and her husband Rick, Spring Hill, TN; eight grandchildren; two great grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the Smith & Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Justin Carter and Rev. Buddy Gentry officiating. Interment will follow in the Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include: Rick Hammond, Junior Adams, Mike Davis,Charles Rayburn, Scott Haney and Chad Gravley.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 pm at the Smith & Miller Funeral Home of Cedartown.
