Peggy Jo Stephens

Mrs. Peggy Jo Stephens, age 82, of Cedartown, GA, passed away, Thursday, December 15, 2022.

She was born June 26, 1940, in Chattanooga, TN, daughter of the late James E. Gregg and Dorothy Glenn Gregg.

Mrs. Stephens leaves a legacy of friendship, as she was known for “never meeting a stranger.” She was a dedicated member of Friendship Baptist Church. She enjoyed singing and photography. Most of all, she enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stephens is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Robert Bugg; and her brother, Donald “Punkin” Gregg.

She is survived by her daughters: Deborah Womack and her husband, Mike, Donna Mealer and her husband, William, Diane Matney, and Darlene Lingerfelt; Eleven grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren; sister, Ann Rose; and brothers: Buddy Gregg and Don Gregg. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Stephens will be held Monday, December 19, 2022, at 3:00 PM, at Friendship Baptist Church with Pastor Kyle Camp and Pastor Mark Smith officiating.

Her family will receive friends Monday, December 19, 2022, at Friendship Baptist Church from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour.
