Mr. Ricky Leon Nale, age 70, of Cedartown passed away Saturday, June 1, 2024.
Ricky was born September 21, 1953, in the Seney community of Rockmart, son of the late Lonnie Franklin Nale and Annie Mae Duncan Nale Redding.
Ricky spent his life in Polk County and was a member of Valley View Baptist Church. Throughout the years, Ricky taught Sunday School and loved to pray. Ricky had a long career of almost 45 years installing and finishing sheetrock throughout homes in Polk County and surrounding areas. When he would take time away from work, he always enjoyed relaxing on the water either fishing or in his boat.
In addition to his parents, Lonnie Nale and Annie Mae Nale Redding, he was also preceded in death by his son, Ricky "Little Ricky" Disharoon stepfather, Reverend Joe Redding, Sr.; brother, Frank Nale, Robert Nale, Harold Nale; sisters, Ruth Womack and Margaret Brogdon.
Ricky is survived by his loving wife, Janet McGee Nale; children, Keith & Stacy Morgan; grandchildren, Destiny Burkhalter (Logan), Myrissa Giroux and Dakota Morgan; great grandchildren, Mia Gravett, Corbin Gravett, Scarlett Morgan, and Denver Morgan; brothers, Larry Nale and his wife Patricia, Lonnie Nale and his wife, Carol, JD Nale and his wife, Shirley, Joe Redding and his wife, Cindy, John Redding and his wife, Candy; sister, Ann Ward and her husband, Buster. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services to honor his life will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at 11:00 AM, in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home, with Reverend John Redding officiating. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens.
The following nephews will serve as pallbearers: Shane Nale, Eddie "Tojo" Nale, Jimmy Jarrell, Timmy Jarrell, Justin Sumlin, and Jamie Sumlin. Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Jackie Sumlin.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 3, 2024, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Smith & Miller Funeral Home.
