Mr. Robert "Warren" Whaley, age 74, of Morganton, Georgia, passed away suddenly Monday, April 24,2017. He was born March 13, 1943 in Sparta, Georgia. He was the son of the late Forest and Inez Whaley.
Mr. Whaley lived life to the fullest. He was a retired 28 year veteran of the Atlanta Police Department and had the stories to prove it. He was an avid Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs fan. He loved working outdoors so much that he and his wife were currently the park managers of Morganton Point Campground.
Mr. Whaley is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Jessie Love Whaley of Morganton, Georgia; children: Rob and Aundrea Whaley of Austell, Georgia, Van and Andrea Whaley of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter: Cindy Whaley of Blue Ridge, Georgia; grandchildren: Rob, Heather and Ivy Whaley; brothers: Walter, Welburn and Donald Whaley. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The graveside funeral service will be conducted Saturday April 29, 2017 at 2:00 PM in Polk Memory Gardens Cedartown, Georgia with the Atlanta Police Department Chaplin officiating and the police honor guard honoring his service to law enforcement.
The family has requested that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions made to the American Cancer Society P.O. Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK. 73123 in his memory.
