Mr. Ronald “Ronnie” Williams, age 83, of Cedartown passed away Monday, February 17, 2025.
Mr. Williams was born February 27, 1941, in Cedartown, Georgia, son of the late Verbon Williams and Ozell Hessler Williams.
Mr. Williams was a gentle and kind person. He had a love for education and had a lengthy career as a teacher at the Georgia School For The Deaf. He could always find a project to do in order to spend time on his tractor. He was well known in Polk County for his skill of repairing and restoring Volks Wagon Beetles. Mr. Williams was a founding member of the Pioneer Street Rods. Mr. Williams was a devoted and caring husband to his wife, Janice, through their many years of marriage. He was a loving and attentive father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His presence in the lives of all who knew and loved him will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Williams is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mrs. Janice Hayes Williams, and a son-in-law, Stanley Thompson.
Mr. Williams is survived by his children, Reggie Williams and his wife, Tina, and Mimi Thompson; special friend and "adopted son", Mike Hill; grandchildren: Tyler Williams, and Jacob Williams and his wife, Melody; great-grandchildren: Eli Williams and Evan Williams; his beloved cat, “TT,” who is the queen of the house; sisters, Veronica Hasson, and Tina Sucher; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services to celebrate Mr. Williams life will be held Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home, with Reverend Brian Crisp officiating. Interment will follow in Lime Branch Cemetery, with Reverend Roger Kiser officiating.
Mr. Williams Family will receive friends Wednesday evening, February 19, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Smith & Miller Funeral Home.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Tim McKelvey, Ed Worsham, Jerry Barker “Round man”, Lee Richardson, Donnie McKibben, and Zack McKibben. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Rodney Little, Sammy Parnell, Mike Hill and Brownie Gaulding.
Mr. Williams’ family kindly accepts flowers, or memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Tapestry Hospice.
