Ronnie Dee Rogers, 70, of Cedartown, passed away at home on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024.

Ronnie was born January 3, 1954, to the late Tattie Bell Leslie Rogers and the late Onnie Dee Rogers.

Ronnie spent his youth caring for cattle, chickens, and horses on his father's farms around Polk County. He was a member of the Future Farmers of America and raised a prize-winning pig that was purchased by Hormel Foods for use in an advertisement campaign. He was a member of the United Steelworkers of America. Ronnie was an avid fan of police shows, Westerns, and country music. He took many trips to Nashville, including to present songs he had co-written with his cousin, Ricky Rogers, to Grand Ole Opry mainstay Billy Walker. He rescued numerous dogs and cats in his lifetime and enjoyed their company in his golden years. Ronnie was of the Christian faith and as a child attended Southside Baptist Church.

Ronnie is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sheila Roberson Rogers; son, John Ross Rogers; daughter, Jennifer Marie Rogers; sister, Cathy Rogers Puckett; sister-in-law, Marie (Dennis) Worthington; a number of cousins, nieces and nephews, and other relatives also survive.
