Mr. Samuel Henry “Sammy” White, age 72 of Cedartown, Georgia passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022.
Sammy was born July 13, 1949, in Cedartown to the late Lucian White and Agnes Williams White. He was a very loving and caring man that truly loved his family and friends. He was a dedicated member of Antioch Baptist Church where he loved to worship the Lord. He was a former Boy Scout and obtained the highest rank of becoming an Eagle Scout. He was a proud graduate of Cedartown High School class of 1968 where he played football. Although he was a welder by trade, he was currently working as a project manager from Polk County Public Service. He was an honorary member of The Bottoms Hunting Club and in his spare time, he enjoyed deer hunting, rabbit hunting, fishing and spending time with his family at the lake. He was recently presented the great honor of becoming a 50-year Mason.
In addition to his parents, Sammy was preceded in death by his sister, Beverly Kimball.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years Janice Clinton White; children: Todd White and his wife Beth, Tim White and his wife Stefanie; grandchildren, Cody White, Brandon Brame, Brooklyn Mattox, Megan White, and Garrison White; great grandchild, Hadlee Grace Brame and sister, Catherine Stringer. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home with Bro. Jason Stringer, Bro. Michael Goss, and Rev. Dan Payne officiating. Interment will follow in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jonathan Blackmon officiating with Masonic rites conducted by the Caledonia Lodge 121.
The following will serve as pallbearers: Cody White, Brandon Brame, Garrison White, Breck Tillery, Scotty Tillery, Caleb Stringer, Drew Mattox, and Mark Bentley. Honorary pallbearers will be Rocky Tillery and all employees of Polk County Public Service.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, January 15, 2022, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM
