Sara “Lois” Brazier Carmichael, 79, died peacefully in her home on September 20, 2021 following a six year valiant battle with cancer.
Although Mrs. Carmichael never failed in her determination and will to live fully and independently, her health declined this past year, and she was placed on Hospice in recent weeks. She remained at home in her community until the end.
Born September 14, 1942, Mrs. Carmichael was retired and served as the business manager for her husband, the late William Carmichael, co-owner of C&A Auto Parts for 40 years. She and her husband were married for 58 years.
Prior to that work and use of her strong business and financial acumen, Mrs. Carmichael served in furniture sales and had a strong gift for decorating and interior design. She often shared her talent by helping friends decorate their homes. She was gifted artistically and savvy in business, traits she has left as a legacy for her daughter and grandchildren.
Mrs. Carmichael was the daughter of the late John “Dell” and Nettie Corine Brazier and was predeceased by an older brother, Spencer Brazier and a younger sister, Nettie Sue Brazier. Surviving in addition to her daughter Donna (John) Isgett, are a granddaughter, Sarah Isgett (Will) Miles and a grandson, John Thomas Isgett, III as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Private services are being planned, directed by Smith and Miller Funeral Home of Cedartown, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, Donna requests that any remembrances be made to New Harmony Baptist Church, P O Box 871, Cedartown, GA 30125. Donna and her family are extremely thankful for the care givers and their dedication to both Mr. and Mrs. Carmichael this past year.
The Smith & miller Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Sara “Lois” Carmichael.
