Shelia Watkins

Mrs. Sheila Watkins, age 74 of Cedartown, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2025.

Mrs. Watkins was born February 1, 1950, in Rome, Georgia, daughter of the late John “JW” Welchel and Christine Teems Welchel.

Mrs. Watkins was a graduate of Cedartown High School, Class of 1969. She was an avid reader and loved to cook for her family and friends. Mrs. Watkins always enjoyed playing slot machines and humorously called them “ding ding machines.” She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and her family was truly at the center of her life.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Watkins is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Stevie “Steve” Watkins, and her sister, Judy Warren.

Mrs. Watkins is survived by her children: Lee Brumbelow and his wife, Elizabeth, Heath Watkins, and Brian Watkins; grandchildren: Lily Brumbelow, Addy Brumbelow, Jordan Watkins, John Watkins, Emma Watkins, Courtney Sims, and Cheyanne Hill; and great-grandchildren: Waylen Watkins, Jaylen Watkins, Brielle Hill, and Brylee Hill.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
