Mike Garner

Mr. Stephen “Mike” Garner, age 72, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2024.

Mike was born October 16, 1951, son of the late John Lewis Garner and Audrey Pruitt Garner. He enjoyed fishing, watching deer, and riding on country roads. Mike also had a love for music. Mike was a proud veteran of the United States Army.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by sisters, Teresa Jones, Marsha Brown, and Pat Jones, and brothers, Joel Garner, and Johnny Garner.

Mike is survived by his wife, Renee Garner; son, Chad Garner and his wife, Elaine; grandchildren, Trenton Garner, and Trista Garner; great grandchildren, Kopelyn Garner, Sadie Upton, Tatum Upton, and one on the way; siblings, Terry Garner and his wife, Janelle, Jimmy Garner, and David Holcomb. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home with Brother Jason Stringer and Brother Danny Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery with Rockmart American Legion Brown- Wright Post 12 providing military honors.

Pallbearers will include Trenton Garner, Hunter Patterson, Ken Patterson, Eddie Patterson, Allen Carter, and Steve Landrum.

The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 1:00 pm until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
