Carol Martin

Ms. Teresa “Carol” Martin, age 76, of Cedartown, GA, passed away Friday afternoon, July 26, 2024.

Carol was born in Adairsville, GA, on August 20, 1947, daughter of the late Charles Eden and Betty R. Squires. She was a singer for several local Southern Gospel groups and traveled throughout the southeast singing. Carol had a special heart for loving people and was currently serving as the pianist for Lee’s Chapel Baptist Church. She loved singing, playing the piano, baking, cooking, and would always call-in birthdays to the WGAA Birthday Club. Carol had a wonderful sense of humor and was always mailing cards and coupons to family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by grandparents, John Dinning, Sr., and Nellie Dinning, siblings, John Dinning, Jr., Jerry Dinning, and Bobby Dinning.

Carol is survived by her children, Chris Swanson, Teresa Geiger and Donita Turner; grandchildren, Phillip Swanson, Brandon Swanson, Sean Geiger, Julian Geiger, Keira Turner, and Braelyn Turner; siblings, Kenneth Relford, Eddie Eden, Herschel Dinning, Juanita Fain, Ellen Watts, Lisa Jernigan, Kathy Sizemore, and Susan Wilson; and four great-grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and her fur-babies, Buddy and Spanky also survive.

Funeral services for Carol will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home with Rev. James Blankenship and Rev. Terry Sims officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery in Adairsville with Rev. Randy Vines in charge of graveside rites. Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher Sherfield, Kenneth "Bubba" Timms, Chris Camp, Jeremy Sims, Jeffery M. Wilson, and Allen Williams. 

Carol’s family will receive friends at Smith & Miller Funeral Home Thursday evening, August 1, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
