Mrs. Virginia Thomason, age 82, passed away Monday, January 23, 2023.
She was born June 27, 1940, in Cedartown, Georgia, daughter of the late Robert Forrister and Mildred Pruitt Forrister.
Mrs. Thomason was a friendly person who never met a stranger and was lovingly referred to as the “Facebook queen.” She had a very generous nature and always put others above herself. She was an encourager and loved her family above all.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Clifton “Vern” Thomason; her first husband, Reverend Jerry Wayne Hardin; brothers, James and Doug Forrister; and sister Maedell Pierce.
Mrs. Thomason is survived by a daughter, Sheila Wilkes and her husband, Barney; son, Rodney Hardin; grandchildren: Jeremy Wilkes and his wife, Krista, Jason Wilkes and his wife, Chelsey, Jessica Wilkes Adams, and Kristin Pizzano and her husband, Matt; and great grandchildren: Shelby Lynn Wilkes, Sara Kate Wilkes, Linley Wilkes, Anzlee Adams, Ava Adams, Aiden Adams, Asher Pizzano, Raelynn Pizzano, and Cainan Pizzano. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Thomason will be held Friday, January 27, 2023, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Hulsey officiating and Jeremy Wilkes and Matt Pizzano delivering eulogies. Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery.
The following gentlemen will serve as Pallbearers: Ken Forrister, Robbie Pyles, Ricky Pyles, Tommy McElwee, John Redden, and Joe Redden. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be: Lee and Brandi Thaxton, Terry Folsom, Sr., Jennifer Wilson Ray, David Beck, Shawn Bridges, and Luke Pyles.
Her family will receive friends on Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Smith & Miller Funeral Home.
